Marari originates from " Mararikulam ", one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch.

Marari offers endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by swaying palms, virgin territory where you can experience the local charm and traditional Kerala Hospitality at its best. Not that you need to spend the whole of your holiday in seclusion, you couldn't be in a better location for exploring the marvellous backwaters, where the tranquility, the stunning scenery and the feeling of being transported back in time, make it a superbly relaxing and inspiring experience. For a more upbeat day, a visit to Alleppey is a must.
In a superb location set in 25 acres of Coconut Palm groves leading down to the vast expanse of beach. The Marari Beach is a Brand New Hotel built in the style of an traditional fishing village with thatched villas that have been designed to be in keeping with the local village style. The 400 sq.ft spacious villas are all air-conditioned with twin or double beds, mini bar, coffee making facilities and delightfully furnished veranda with ceiling fan.
The bathrooms are spacious and modern, built in traditional Kerala style with an open-air courtyard, complete with a banana or Pappaya tree . Each villa also has a small private garden area.
The deluxe villas which has the same facilities plus a separate sitting area which can accommodate an extra two persons, are situated in it's own ground with its own private swimming pool. There is a large swimming pool with sun terrace near the main buffet restaurant, bar and an amphitheater where cultural shows are performed. The " beach-shack" set amongst the Coconut Palm fronting the beach serves delicious fish and sea food.
The resort has its own Ayurveda Centre headed by the resident Ayurveda Doctor and a team of dedicated men and women messieurs and therapists. Beach Cots and Cozy Hammocks have been evenly distributed in the grove. The Beach Volleyball " court " will be a fun place to have a friendly match and for the more adventurous, bicycles are available at the reception to discover the neighborhood.

Cochin:
A leisurely walk through the city is the best way to discover historic Fort Kochi. An obscure fishing village that became the first European township in India, Kochi has an eventful and colourful history.
Its reputation as a seafaring commercial town was such that Nicolas Conti, an Italian traveller of the Middle Ages remarked: If China is where you make your money, then Kochi surely is the place to spend it. The town was shaped by the Portuguese, the Dutch and later the British. The result of these cultural influences are seen in the many examples of Indo European architecture that still exist here.

With the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers cris crossing it, Alappuzha is a district of immense natural beauty, Referred to as the "Venice of the East" by travellers from across the world, this backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life.
By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. Today Alapphuza is also famous for its boat races, houseboat holidays, beaches, marine products and coir industry. A singular characteristic of this land is the region called Kuttanad. The rice bowl of Kerala, Kuttanadis perhaps the only place in the world where farming is done below sea level.
